Calibre de cartier diver8/9/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() The components of the mechanism, including the traditional Cotes de Genève motifs on the main parts such as the rotor and the bridge, are supplied from the best-known companies. Contrary to popular belief, the movement uses the dual barrel mechanism to deliver a stable power transmission by distributing the pressure on the balance wheel and hair spring instead of extending the power reserve and can provide very accurate time-keeping values. The self-winding mechanism has a double-barrel design but despite this feature, the power reserve, when the movement is fully wound, is limited to 48 hours, which can be considered standard for a single-barrel type. Designed by Cartier’s charismatic guru Carole Forestier-Kasapi and introduced for the first time in 2010 the mechanism is used in different models of the brand, as well as serving as the base platform for many mechanisms in the current product group. The model is powered with the brand’s in-house movement Caliber 1904 MC. The sword shaped hands and indices are Super Luminova applied for better legibility in the dark. The lower dial placed at 6 o’clock points to the seconds function, while the date can be read and displayed in triplicate from the window placed at 3 o’clock. The stylized Roman numeral indices, especially the large one at 12 o’clock position, adds an elegant touch to this otherwise sporty model. The dial carries typical Cartier features. Thanks to the integrated lug to strap design, the optical integrity of the watch is nicely reinforced. At the rear, a solid stainless steel cover is preferred. The front side of the case features a sapphire crystal glass that does not have anti-reflective coating. There may be those who find this detail too "fancy" for a WR300M diver’s watch, but it’s worth remembering, this is a Cartier. It is approximately 2mm wider than the bezel which allows the model to look larger than 42mm, but it is also important to note that this is not that effective at creating an oversized watch look.ĭesigned according to the sporty character of the model, at the top of the winding crown is a sapphire stone which is one of the quintessential details of the brand. The bezel is a rotational diver type with a stainless steel housing and a blue ADLC (amorphous diamond-like carbon) insert. This value, which we can say is fine for a model with an automatic mechanism that fully meets professional diver watch standards with 300M waterproof value, has a positive effect on the wearing comfort as well. The model’s 42mm case is just 11mm thick, which has enough detail to make it obvious that it is designed underh the Calibre de Cartier platform. The case of the watch is made of stainless steel. Thus, we had the opportunity to put the Calibre de Cartier under the loupe once again, which we initially had our hand on at Cartier’s booth at Baselworld 2016. On our last visit, we included the Cartier Caliber De Cartier Blue with stainless steel case and rubber / textile combination strap to our photo shoot. Therefore, I often visit the brand’s magnificent boutique at İstinye Park Shopping Mall. “Cartier Caliber De Cartier Diver is one of the most important sports models that Cartier has introduced recently. The well-known brand should have stopped ignoring the beloved diver’s watch concept as they introduced their latest diver’s watch, the Calibre de Cartier, after a long break. In fact, it is not wrong to say that Cartier is responsible for this, as I cannot think of any diver’s watch except the Pasha Seatimer, which was mostly treated like a step-child of the highly popular Pasha De Cartier Collection. When we hear Cartier, I guess diver’s watches are the last to come to mind. This time, I am passing this part with the understanding that we left the "jewelry brand" perception aside. Whenever I write a review for a model belonging to the Cartier brand, I start by listing all of the important and successful models that are released as a result of the brand’s history, contributions to watchmaking, and recent investments. Cartier, one of the indispensable representatives of the concept of luxury, was the guest of our review corner with the Calibre De Cartier model, which stands out with his sporty character in the current model family. ![]()

Vice versa nyc menu8/9/2023 ![]() As soon as it’s been accepted, people don’t question it,” says Ivan Orkin, who famously upended ramen culture in Tokyo by, among other tricks, adding roasted tomatoes. “Japan is a lot like New York: It doesn’t have any rules because anything you do in Japan automatically becomes Japanese. The menu ranges from crispy panko-crusted eggplant katsu to bomboloncini, a playful combination that combines fried Italian doughnuts with mochi along with Nutella, toasted sesame, and hazelnut. In Nolita, Kimika has been the most prominent champion of itameshi since it debuted on Kenmare Street near Bowery a year ago. There is one cuisine, however, that is having an only-in-New-York moment like never before: Itameshi, the Japanese spin on Italian food. Since the pandemic, the number of best sushi restaurants and pricey omakase menus to rustic pasta joints and modern Italian steakhouses continues to proliferate. It’s not a stretch to call out Japanese and Italian food among the most popular in New York City. ![]() Sign up for the 10 to Hear newsletter here. But if he truly wants to help shift the sound of pop music, he’ll have to take a leap of faith.Ĭatch up every Saturday with 10 of our best-reviewed albums of the week. And it appears to be a shrewd move, business-wise, at least: Vice Versa and “Todo De Ti” debuted at or near the top of several charts, racking up streams in the hundreds of millions. Vice Versa is ultimately pop experimentation with trepidation Alejandro wants to expand the palette available to a successful Latin pop star, but seems to believe that change will be slow to come-better to play it safe with some bankable beats, just in case. ![]() And while it’s cool that Anitta and Brazil’s baile funk are getting shine on a mainstream pop record, the smooth surface of “Brazilera” betrays much of the wild, frenetic energy that makes that music so appealing. Even “La Old Skul”-a transparent attempt to pay tribute to reggaetón’s roots with a sample of one of its more enduring hits-falls flat, failing to capture any of the irreverent spirit that made the movement so exciting. Unfortunately, most of the actual reggaetón numbers, like the lovers daydream “Nubes,” skew generic and boring. ![]() It’s the most thrilling moment on the record, an injection of unbridled energy that fades much too quickly. “Cosa Guapa” begins innocently enough as a standard pop reggaetón, then teleports to the floor at Fabric “❼uándo Fue?” lulls listeners in with familiar syncopation before dropping them into a vortex of skittering snares and deep, pulsing synthesized bass. After hinting at an affinity for Euro club music on Afrodisíaco’s “Quimica,” he further experiments here with UK rave and drum’n’bass. ![]() This expanded range has also yielded some fascinating results, mostly at the higher tempos. “Desenfocao’” feels modeled after the contemporary Weeknd, softening a Michael Jackson-via-Max Martin take on rock music with a slick pop sheen. And while it’s certainly a surprising direction for a young artist who came up on reggaetón and Trap&B, it’s also somewhat dispiriting that the big tonal shift comes from a track that would sound more at home on the boring half of a Dua Lipa LP, a lifestyle ad in audio form with a saccharine melody that appears to be lifted from Fergie’s biggest hit. The most forceful example of this is album opener “Todo De Ti,” his declaration that he is veering from the standard pop formula du jour-the Latin one, at least. Outside of Anitta’s turn on “Brazilera,” the most prominent guest on the record might just be the Daddy Yankee sample on “La Old Skul.” Alejandro is also listed as a producer on five of Vice Versa’s 14 tracks, evidence that his confidence in his own vision extends behind the boards, too. Yet its success has emboldened him to further experiment on his latest LP, Vice Versa, albeit with mixed results.įor better or worse, Vice Versa is presented distinctly in Alejandro’s voice historically a prolific collaborator, he largely eschews features. And indeed, while Alejandro dabbled in some new directions on his debut LP Afrodisíaco, much of that record hewed closer to the watered-down reggaetón and trap that dominates the Latin charts. So for Rauw Alejandro, a nascent pop star with gifts as a singer and dancer surpassing most of his contemporaries-including bellwethers Bad Bunny and J Balvin-the challenge becomes not how to get reggaetón on the charts, but how to get on the charts without making reggaetón. ![]()

Tape measure reading with numbers8/8/2023 ![]() ![]() Classes include professionally produced videos taught by practicing craftspeople, and supplementary downloads like quizzes, blueprints, and other materials to help you master the skills. MT Copeland offers video-based online classes that give you a foundation in construction fundamentals with real-world applications. If you prefer to mark with your right hand and hold your tape measure with your left hand, you can special order a left handed tool. Most stores will only carry tape measures that read correctly while the body is held in your right hand.In a pinch, you can use your tape measure as a straight edge if the mark doesn’t need to be 100% accurate. If you are measuring alone, tap a nail into the outside edge of the surface and use the hole in the pull tab to anchor the tape to the surface before taking your measurement. This is best done in pairs so get someone to help you out holding the other end and make sure the person reading the measurement knows that the person pulling the tape is burning an inch. Then take the measurement and subtract one inch. Instead of using the pull tab as the edge, place the tape measure so that the one inch line is exactly at the edge of whatever you are measuring. The numbers are big and dark so easy to read. To measure a length as exactly as possible for detailed finishing work or expensive materials where you really only have one shot to get it right, try the “burning an inch” method. Now, with the Big Foot 30 Righty Tape you hook onto your right and all the numbers are facing the correct way. Slowly disengage the lock to allow the tape to coil back in safely rather than letting it snap back in with too much force.Mark your surface with the measurement as close to the tape marking as possible, or record on a notepad if you are in the planning stages. Then engage the lock if your tape measure has one, or hold the tape in place with your hand to secure.Either hook the pull tab on the edge of the surface or press it flat to the inside of the surface. To get an accurate measurement, it’s important that the tape lays as flat as possible against the surface. How to use a tape measure to measure things accurately This makes measuring center-to-center on studs especially convenient. Note: Tape measures made specifically for framing jobs will come with numbers marked in red so that you can easily locate common 16 inch stud intervals. Most standard tapes have a special mark, such as an arrow, at each foot. Foot marks are made every 12 inches so that you don’t have to convert inches into feet in your head for long measurements. The trick to reading standard tapes is learning to recognize the markings from largest to smallest.Home > Tools > Measuring Tools > Measuring Tapes > EZ Read Tape Measure 1 x 25. 1 inch mark (runs completely across the tape and is the longest mark) We look forward to seeing you in our store. ![]() Here is the complete breakdown of one inch on a tape measure: ![]()

Sherlock holmes board game reviews8/8/2023 ![]() ![]() The Baker Street Irregulars also features a new investigation design. This iteration brings many highlights that stand among the best cases created for the SHCD series. As each case unfolds, players will find themselves attaching closer to the young detectives as more casework comes to light. There’s a cohesive vision here, and without going into the specifics of any case, there is plenty of heart on display with regard to both design and narration. It is due to this focus that The Baker Street Irregulars feels fresh. You play their role in previous Consulting Detective collections, but here the lives of these clever children are brought to the forefront and encompass a much larger thematic emphasis for the events at play. It features a heavy emphasis on the ragtag group of kids that Sherlock Holmes utilized as his investigative team. The narrative during the ten cases spans from 1885 to 1890. The approach to The Baker Street Irregulars feels like a reintroduction to the series and is a great way for new gamers to experience the fun. ![]() ![]() ![]() Contents include a directory, informant list, and newspapers. The final six cases are loosely linked together as they require players to refer back to previous newspapers to dig for potential clues and locations. The first four cases can be played in any order. It can be played as a group but is best at two players who can bounce ideas off of each other to spark new life into the decision space. Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective is a text-heavy storytelling game that requires focus, heavy note-taking, and the ability to parse information to deduce potential pathways forward. A map of London is included, which features numbered locations to reference in each casebook. While this may not be impossible, the challenge is certainly real. To earn Sherlock’s respect, you must score 100 points. For each extra lead beyond Sherlock’s “perfect” solution, points are subtracted from those gained while answering the two sets of case questions. When you arrive at the solution, the number of leads taken is compared to how Sherlock would have solved the case. And you’ll need all the points you can get. The first series will directly relate to the case, whereas the second series will relate to mysteries or puzzles players may have encountered along the way.Īnswering these questions correctly allows players to earn points toward end game scoring. Before you return to Sherlock with your deductions, you are confronted with two series of questions that must be answered. There’s only so much time you can spend on the streets of London before you have to accept the information you’ve collected and move to solve the case. Options will eventually dwindle as you get closer to the solution or find yourself chasing a bad lead. Players may even find cases morphing into something completely different as information shifts and distorts the scope of the crime. Thus, possibilities fluctuate and provide plenty of opportunities for pushing the narrative forward. One case may task players with visiting the scene of a crime, only to then be confronted with multiple angles on what may have happened. With all of this information in hand, players must identify the best possible leads with the information gleaned at each location. Dive deep into a case of kidnapping from the start. The directory features names, businesses, and lists of organizations that may be utilized throughout play. Also provided is a list of Sherlock’s frequent informants and a London directory. Each case features a copy of the local in-era newspaper, The Times, which may include pertinent case information. The map has five districts and prominent sites are numbered so they can be easily referenced. Players can then consult the provided map of London to determine the best locations to visit that will lead to the next vital clue. Gameplay Overview:Įach casebook in Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective starts with a narrative introduction and gives a general idea of how to approach an investigation. Do you have what it takes to help Sherlock Holmes investigate the unique crimes found within? Enter the fog-filled London streets and be at the ready to follow those leads. In the ten cases included in this standalone set, players take on the role of Sherlock’s trusty group of street children, the Irregulars, and are thrust into a curious world of intrigue, scandal, and murder. The newest iteration of the series, The Baker Street Irregulars, was developed by designer Dave Neale and published by Space Cowboys. In the Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective (SHCD) cooperative deduction game it’s your business to know what other people do not know. ![]()

Homemade cb radio box8/8/2023 ![]() ![]() You need a solid radio that can really reach out there, across all of the active radio frequencies worldwide. Therefore, I think the smartest advance plan of action is to build a mobile radio system, and not a lame one. Radio silence has to be weighed against the benefits of reaching out to the world outside. Any experienced radio operator can triangulate your position as soon as you press the send key, and in any survival situation, and you can bet that there will be hostiles out there listening for where they can steal some supplies. But as several commenters pointed out on the first radio article in this series, there is a strong argument to maintain radio silence. And as I explained in my article on seeds, growing your own food just isn’t that easy. You may have food and water for months, but you don’t have it for years.
